Happy 2012 blog followers! Words can't express how excited I am for this year. After a nice little break, I am so excited to get back behind the lens and photograph. I wanted to start the year off with a couple exciting announcements.

Thanksgiving Blessings

In this season of Thanksgiving I have so much to be grateful for - my salvation, a great family, good jobs, loving boyfriend, the list goes on and on. What am I especially grateful for this month? It's the opportunity I have to capture memories for people that they can cherish for years to come. I have truly been blessed so much this past month with some of the most amazing clients! So make sure to read this entire post - there are 3 wonderful families to meet!

First up is the Wilkerson family. I LOVE meeting new clients, so when Jessica emailed me about doing a session I couldn't have been more excited. We chose Steele's Creek, which made a beautiful fall backdrop for their photos to send back home to family in Texas. Not only were they such a great family to work with but they were so adorable together. I got such an overwhelming response to the photos on Facebook I'm going to let the photos below speak for themselves - thanks Jessica for letting me photograph your family :)

Next up is the Gobble family. I've known Ashley since elementary school, so to be able to photograph her family was special to me. She's a great mother, very creative, and has such a wonderful family (might I mention 2 very handsome men!). Check out her little cutie below - he was such a great photography assistant during our session and so much fun!

And last but certainly not least, is the Scott family. Speaking of blessings, Kasie has truly been a huge blessing in my life over the years. We have been best friends for 10 years now and she has become like a sister to me. The least I could do is photograph her, her husband, and her two dogs, Lucy and Stewie, for Christmas. I had so many favorites from this session - it was hard to pick just a few. Good luck Kasie on choosing your Christmas card photo!!

Shoots for a Cure

Inspiring Effects Photography by Jana is excited to announce a partnership with Shoots for a Cure (formerly known as Think Pink Photography). Think Pink Photography was founded in October 2007 to support individuals and their families who have been touched by breast cancer. We are a charitable organization that serves two main purposes – celebrating life and supporting the cause. Recently, we changed our name and our support. We now want to support ALL cancer patients, not just breast cancer!

Through our professional photographer network, we are helping cancer patients to celebrate life with charitable photography sessions. Individuals may choose to document their fight against the disease before or during treatment, or prefer to capture their victory by scheduling a session within 12 months after treatment is completed. Photographers world-wide are now available to donate time and talent to celebrate life and support the cause. There is no cost or obligation to the cancer patient. Clients participating in a Shoots for a Cure session will receive a complimentary photo session, as well as a set of 10 small prints from the session. They will also receive a discount on any additional portraits they wish to purchase, although there is absolutely no purchase required at any time.

To support the cause, we donate and fundraise for The American Cancer Society, Susan G Komen Foundation and have partnered with The Eric R. Beverly Family Foundation. All funds generated through donations and various fundraising efforts are paid directly to The American Cancer Society, Susan G Komen Foundation or The Eric R. Beverly Family Foundation in our name.

Colton {Birthday Boy}

Long story short, I LOVE kids. So when I get an opportunity to photograph them I jump on it. A couple weeks ago I was able to capture the adorable Colton's second birthday party. He is such a cutie and definitely photogenic! I hope to have more opportunities to photograph Colton and other kids like him soon. Thanks to his family for letting me be a part of his special day :)

Selina + William {Married}

You may recognize this adorable couple from their engagement photos I did this past Spring. A little over a month ago I had the privilege of photographing their wedding day. Again - I was so excited, not only because both William and Selina are dear friends of mine but also because the church and reception site were such beautiful places! Not to mention Selina, who is was an extremely creative bride and brought her personalizing touch into every aspect of her wedding day. Most of the things in her wedding were made by her or her family so needless to say I was so impressed! When my big day comes I hope to have that creative burst and be able to make the day so personal - it makes the day so much more special.

Bethany + Nathan {Engagement}

Meet Bethany and Nathan- the winners of a free photo session from a Facebook contest I held earlier this year. When I learned that this couple was looking for a more "vintage" style for their engagement photos, I was so excited! I love it when clients bring new ideas to their sessions. This was definitely a first for me, but I believe that I LOVE this style! Not only were Bethany's outfits and accessories amazing but the chemistry between these two was undeniable.

We shot on location in Abingdon, VA - a beautiful and historic town just perfect for the vintage look. The weather wasn't the greatest for a session, we battled rain the whole time, but I believe these photos turned out pretty amazing. Below are some of my favorites from the session - and let me tell you narrowing it down to just these was so hard!!

Angela and Ryan {Married}

All I can say was that when I was contacted by this couple to photograph their wedding, I was so excited! The beautiful bride, Angela, and I go way back - we grew up in the same neighborhood and have always attended the same schools. I absolutely love it when friends of mine think of me to capture those special moments - it really makes the day even more special!

You may remember Ryan and Angela from their engagement session I did last August. This past Saturday they exchanged vows at The Charles in Johnson City, TN. It was a rainy afternoon, but it sure didn't dampen the mood - the ceremony was beautiful, food was delicious, and the dancing was so much fun! Angela looked beautiful and was so care free throughout the entire day - just the way any bride should be.

Oh to be a kid again...

I had so much fun at my photo session this past Saturday! Throughout my several years as a photographer, I haven't had the opportunity to photograph many children since most of my clients have been engaged adults or high school seniors, so anytime I get the chance I'm all for it. I guess it's where my desire to have my own children one day kicks in. There was even a little bonus with this session, two adorable dogs - Lilly and Bailey. If you know me than you know I am just a little bit partial to shih tzus!! Once again, I have been so blessed with absolutely beautiful clients - these children were so darn cute! None of them were the least bit camera shy and could seriously one day all turn out to be models - I definitely think good genes run in the family :)

It has been so hard for me to pick favorites from this session because seriously, they all turned out so good. I've narrowed down the field though and posted some below. William & Selina :+: Engaged

Words can't even describe how excited I was when my good friends Selina and William asked me to take some engagement photos for them! They are such a fun couple and very photogenic. I asked Selina, as I do all my clients, to think outside the box and bring any kind of prop or keepsake that she wanted in the photos or that had a special meaning to her. Well Selina, literally had a car full of props and tons of welcome ideas! We traveled to several different sites for these photos including the covered bridge in Elizabethton, the Carter Mansion, Milligan College, and a creek at Buffalo Mountain. So take a look below at the finished product from our little session. You will not be disappointed!

Congrats again to you both! I can't wait to photograph your wedding day :)

I almost fell about a dozen times on the hike down to this river, but these next couple photos made it so worthwhile! Look at the chemistry and the sunlight!!

Racin' Bristol style

Well we just wrapped up our March NASCAR race weekend here in Bristol. This was the 13th consecutive race weekend that I have worked for the track. This weekend was perhaps one of the most memorable ones ever. Sunday was the Jeff Byrd 500 (formerly the Food City 500) which Food City graciously gave up the naming rights in memory of our former general manager who passed away last October after a courageous battle with cancer. Jeff's spirit definitely was in the air throughout the whole weekend. I can't help but think that Jeff used his wonderful negotiation skills to work out a weather forecast with God - not one single drop of rain fell the entire weekend!

If there was one photo that sums up Bristol, I believe it's the one below. I think this is my favorite from the whole weekend. NASCAR fans are diehard about their sport and I love it!

A Baker's Heart

Lately I've been on a baking spree! From fudge, to chocolate cakes, to sugar cookies I have been testing my baking skills almost weekly. I'm not alone though, my best friend Kasie has been helping me along the way (and on a side note her cakes are to die for!). I just feel so accomplished when I can make something for others to enjoy. Hmm, maybe we should open a photography/bake shop. Who knows what the future holds?!

All about LOVE

As we all know, February is considered the month of love. To me, one of the best ways to show love is through photography - rather it be a mother and a child, a man and wife, or a newly engaged couple. Love has no bounds and I'm happy that we have a day dedicated all to love. This year however, Valentine's Day will be a little different for me than in the past. With no "Valentine" of my own to discuss or share with you I decided to show you some of the amazing couples that I had the honor to photograph over the last year. Can you agree with me that through a lens, love is absolutely one of the most beautiful things?!

Happy New Year everyone! I took a little time off for the holidays and what a nice time I had! Don't worry though - my camera was always close at hand. The best thing that I did was take the first road trip ever by myself! I traveled over 1,200 miles to Mobile, AL for New Year's and even though it rained the entire time, I still had a blast. While I was there I got to visit this beautiful Catholic church in downtown Mobile. If you know me, you know how much I love architecture and history so this made this place even more special to me. I didn't have my good camera with me, so the photos you see below were taken with a simple point and shoot. Hard to tell though huh? The place was just breathtaking...

Very Merry Christmas

Everyone knows Christmas is my favorite time of the year. This year, is no exception. We've already had several inches of beautiful snow - so I'm really hoping for a white Christmas this year!

I just wanted to take a moment and thank each and every one of my clients and followers this past year. Without you all, I would not be able to share my passion and dreams. So thank you all! I pray that each of you have a blessed Christmas season. Don't forget take some time this season to stop and remember the True reason for the season - the birth of Jesus.

The Leaves are Falling...

I know that I have gotten a little behind on my blog posts, so when I sat down to work on this one tonight, it was only fitting that I post the following session. Tomorrow is Veteran's Day and I want to say a big THANK YOU to all the men and women who have and are currently serving our country. Especially to Jason, who you will see in the photos below with his lovely wife Nicole and daughter Bridget. Jason is not only part of the armed forces, but also a part of my family. I know the sacrifices he and his wife have had to make for him to do his job protecting our country and it has not been an easy road. I truly admire them both.

A Modern Day Superman

To say that this week has been hard is an understatement. For those of you who don't know, Jeff Byrd, the President and General Manager of Bristol Motor Speedway and Dragway, passed away last Sunday after a courageous battle with cancer. I had known for a long time that he had been sick, just not aware of how sick he had really become. After witnessing my grandfather loose his battle with cancer a little over a year ago, I knew it would be a long road for Jeff, but honestly (and I think this goes for every BMS employee) we all thought that Jeff would recover and would soon be back walking the halls of the office and leading us through many more race seasons to come. We even called him our "Superman" because we knew he could and would win this fight.

Reality hit though Sunday morning when I received a phone call that Jeff had passed away. I couldn't comprehend it at first, but walking into the BMS ticket office that afternoon to work made it all sink in. Jeff would no longer be back - and that's when it really hit me.

I've been a part of the BMS family for almost 6 years now - not a really long time, but long enough for Jeff to leave a lasting impression on my life. I don't think I even realized how much of an impression till this week. Guess it's true what they say - that you never realize what all you have till it's gone. Every article and story that I have read or heard about Jeff brings back my own memories of him. I'd like to share a few...

I remember the first time I met Jeff. It was in 2003 and I was job shadowing a VP at the track for a school assignment. I remember walking into Jeff's office and being a little nervous to meet someone with so much corporate power. As soon as I was introduced though, he insisted that I call him Jeff, not Mr. Byrd, and began asking me all kinds of questions about what I wanted to be when I got older, where I wanted to go to school, etc. I remember thinking how nice it was for him to be genuinely interested in what a high school junior would want to do with their life. He insisted that I get a private tour of the new office building that was under construction (so much so that I had to wear a hard hat to take the tour). Even then I could see the enthusiasm he had to make Bristol the best racing facility in the world and to know that he took time out of his day to share that with me meant the world.

Little did I know that a couple years later our paths would cross again. My first job at the track was as a souvenir clerk and tour guide. I had numerous encounters with Jeff both in the store and out on tours. I remember one time, I had a group of 15 on a tour up in the owners suite and Jeff popped in, checking on the set-up of an event they were having later that evening. Instead of just peeking in and walking out, he came and sit down with all the visitors, asked them all where they were from and what brought them to Bristol. He offered them samples of food they were preparing and even gave them race programs to keep. We were up in that suite for almost an hour - you would have thought all of them were best friends. I never will forget one of the visitors asking who that man was once we got back in the tour van. It took a little convincing to make him believe that Jeff would take the time to talk with them. The man then called his son and said "You're never gonna believe who I just talked with - the President of Bristol Speedway. He treated me like I was a VIP at the race!".

The racetrack wasn't my only job in college. I also did a year long internship with a local Economic Development Alliance of which Jeff was a Board member. I remember at the first Board meeting I was the greeter and Jeff came up, shook my hand, and just stood there a minute. He then jokingly asked if I had gotten lost on the way to the track. From then on, every time I saw him he would always joke with me and say he just never knew where I was going to "pop-up" next. He then proceeded to tell a few high profile community leaders in line behind him that BMS had the best, smartest, and most hard-working employees in the world. I'll never forget that.

Perhaps the funniest story I remember happened a couple years ago. Jeff was known to ride his bike around the BMS property on Sunday afternoons, which is a feat within itself due to all the hills. I was working in the souvenir store and was in the back room when the other girl I was working with (who was fairly new by the way) came in with a funny look on her face. She said "Um, there's a sweaty guy out here in the store with a bike who says he's Jeff Byrd. He needs to get upstairs to his office but doesn't have his key. I don't know what to do." Needless to say I knew as soon as she said it that it probably was in fact Jeff. When I went out to see, he was just standing there, holding his bike laughing. Any other person in his position probably would have been upset at the girl for not knowing who they were. Not Jeff. His simple reply was "Well, at least we know the security is good around here".

That last story in itself sums up Jeff Byrd. To me he was so much more than my boss. He was an exceptional leader and a man of deep faith. He always listened and made time for those who needed it. He genuinely loved people, especially race fans - evident today by a fan who drove 15 hours just to attend Jeff's memorial service. So thank you Jeff for reaching out and touching my life and the lives of so many others. I am so honored to have had the opportunity to learn from the best. You will be missed greatly but you will never be forgotten.

As everyone knows, I am super passionate about photography. In case you didn't know, I'm super passionate about designing stuff as well. Working another full time job doesn't allow me a lot of time to create new things, but when I get an opportunity, you can usually find me at my computer working on a new project.

I started selling photo notecards last year - but decided to ramp up the style a little bit. I wanted more color and a more "professional" appearance - thus see my latest photos below.

These are all printed on high-quality card stock and are blank on the inside - so feel free to personalize yourself! The set can be mixed and matched with pretty much any of my photos. Senior Session

All I can say is that I am blessed with some beautiful clients! I was super excited to do Stephanie's senior session this weekend, but was even more excited when I found out how comfortable she is in front of the camera. This sure did make my job easy! A Small Piece of Paradise!

I know it's been a while since I've been in the blogging world, so sorry to keep all my followers waiting. Things have been picking up around here and for the first time in a long time I was able to get away and take a real vacation for a few days.

Below are a few pics I took while at the beach. I actually didn't use the camera that much on the trip, unusual I know, but was truly "on vacation." haha...

All I can say is that I was so excited when I found out that one of my previous clients had gotten engaged. No one deserves it more than Katie and I was delighted when she asked me to do her engagement photos. Business Cards!

I am so excited! I just received my new set of business cards in the mail. I decided that this would be the best way to showcase my photos, plus have a "portfolio" with me when I am on the go. I think that they turned out AMAZING! And yes, all the pictures on the back are photos taken by me...

The top three pictures are of the full sized business cards while the last picture is of my "mini" cards. These are cheaper to make, but so much more fun! They are about half the size of a regular business card and make great hang tags for packages, photo orders, etc. Plus, they are a little different than the normal - maybe it will make me stand out in the crowd!

Summer Session

I absolutely LOVE photographing my friends and their family members! This past weekend I got to do just that. I had a session with two amazing teens - David and Sydney. They were an absolute joy to work with. They chose a wonderful location - the South Holston Dam Weir. The late afternoon lighting made these pictures turn out beautifully, very little editing had to be done. So check out a few of these sneak peaks. Lake Time

So I'm back in the blogging world after taking a little break. So many changes have been going on around here - moving, graduating, and starting a new career. Seems like everything is changing, but definitely for the better. One thing is staying constant though, and that's my love for photography.

Matt and I were able to enjoy a day at the lake over the 4th. Of course, I brought along my camera and caught some pretty good scenes. One of my favorites just happens to be the last one of the clouds, taken by my amazing man. I must say he makes a pretty darn good assistant! What do you think??

Contest Winner

As many of you know, I ran a special contest last month on my Facebook page (click the link on the left to join). Yesterday, I got to photograph the winner Katie and her son Griffin. She chose Abingdon, VA for the session and it did not disappoint. Abingdon has so many sites perfect for photo sessions. Even though the weather was a little chilly and wet, the photographs turned out beautifully. I think they are just an absolutely adorable family!

Calm Before the Storm

My heart really goes out to those in Nashville and middle Tennessee that have received major damage due to horrific storms. Here in East Tennessee, we have been blessed to have missed most of these storms. We are however currently under a storm advisory and flood watch. The sky has that "stormy" look to it (a perfect time to take pictures) so I headed outside to take a couple pictures of flowers. They are just so beautiful!

Love is a Beautiful Thing

Love is a beautiful thing. Even though these photos above were taken at a staged photography workshop, they are a real couple. They weren't really getting married, but it is evident that they are happy and in love. These are probably my favorite pictures from the entire day. The chemistry is evident and they were such a joy to photograph! It's couples like this that make my love for photography increase, simply because I can relate to what they are feeling. Being able to capture an intimate moment makes it all worth it.

The Day a Girl Dreams Of...

What girl doesn't dream about her wedding day?? I know I do. I've had my wedding planned for years now. I truly believe that when it does happen it will be one of the best days of my life. With that being said, let's continue on with some pictures from the workshop mentioned in my earlier posts. These pictures above are simply of the bride. A few of these pictures were so simple looking that I decided to make them black and white to add effect. I think they turned out really well. Simple, yet elegant. That is what I strive for in my photography - no matter what my subject is.

It's All in the Details...

As the title says, it's all in the details. I LOVE to get up-close and take a good look at all the details, especially when I am photographing things such as flowers. Getting up close gives you a whole new perspective and allows you to really see beauty. I had an amazing opportunity last week to attend a photography workshop designed around a 1920's wedding theme. Needless to say, there were tons of things to photograph, plus I got to learn from one of my all time favorite photographers! It is such a special time when the groom gets to see his bride for the first time on their wedding day. The Real Meaning of Easter

I love Easter. To me, Easter is about so much more than egg hunts and candy. It is a symbolic day to remember Jesus' sacrifice and His resurrection. I am so grateful for all He has blessed me with, including the gift of photography. Through the camera lens I can see His beauty in everything and it is simply amazing to be able to share it with you.

So take time this Easter to reflect on Jesus' sacrifice. And if you don't know the real meaning behind Easter - give me a shout. I would be more than happy to share :)

Finally, East TN weather is starting to feel like Spring! Makes me excited since it means summer is just around the corner. I love to take pictures of flowers this time of year - just after they bloom they are just simply breathtaking.

It's racing time in TN!

Guess what time it is?! That's right - time for the race to come to town (Bristol Motor Speedway that is)! I don't know what it is about the race atmosphere, but I love it. I always get to meet people from all over - 160,000+ people to be exact. Over the past 10 years that I've been working at the track at event time I always learn and get to experience something new. This year is without exception since there are still tickets available and I know that a lot of "1st timers to Bristol" will be here. So without further ado, here are some of my all-time favorite shots I've taken during various racing events. I think they speak for themselves - and as Darrell Waltrip would say: Let's go racing boys!!

A Little Bit of Paradise

These pictures were taken at Isle of Palms Beach in South Carolina. It had been a long time since I had seen the ocean and despite the cold breeze, the sun made for some beautiful scences. In fact, the sun was just about perfect - I had to edit very little on these photos. Makes me want to be there now. Guess we can't get everything we want can we?

I just got back from the most amazing Spring Break trip to the Historic Charleston. Not only is the city absolutely gorgeous, but the 70+ degree weather made it even more photogenic. Have I mentioned that I love snow?! For the first time in years, here in East Tennessee we have gotten quite a bit of it. So I ventured out with my faithful assistant Matt to a local park and took a TON of pictures. The light was just amazing! Since there are so many I'll just post one at a time. 2010 starts a new year and I'm looking forward to growing my photography business. I've been hard at work the past few days creating a new logo and updating my website to make it a little more formal and professional looking. The tree though could also symbolize a "tree of life" that involves all aspects of life - all of which can be captured through a camera lens...

The Christmas season has officially begun. Still lots going on around here. New website was launched (www.inspiringeffectsphoto.com) so please go check it out if you haven't done so.

Above is my dog Bentley showing some Christmas cheer :) He is going to be the face of my family Christmas postcards this year. He's super excited about that as you can tell.

Below are a couple pictures of events I went to recently. The first one was at the UT vs Vandy game in Knoxville. I though that the fireworks turned out nice.

Then there's this cool concert picture from the Jason Aldean concert here in Johnson City, TN. I thought that the black and white effect just made this picture.

Day Trip

So today I had the pleasure of driving through the beautiful North Carolina mountains. Final destination = Blowing Rock, NC. The weather was absolutely PERFECT! I was so excited to get these photos edited. And I have to give a special thanks to my "assistant" for the day - Matt. He shot a couple of excellent solar flare pics.

I think Fall is just absolutely beautiful!

I have such exciting news!

First off, I've been praying really hard about this photography business and I feel as though I should make it a little more official. With that being said I plan to launch a NEW and PROFESSIONAL website here in the next couple weeks. Not only will it make life easier for me, but it will truly be able to show my photos and make it much easier for clients to get in contact with me. I am so excited for you all to see it!! So stay tuned for that...

Secondly, UT finally won a game today against UGA. They actually looked like a football team! I was so excited - therefore, I got Bentley to help me celebrate. He was just so cute with his UT bandana on I just had to take some pics of him! So adorable...

There is absolutely NOTHING like a beautiful Saturday afternoon at Neyland Stadium! I had the opportunity to see the home opener against Western KY and of course brought along my camera. I just hope the rest of the season looks as good as the 63-7 win did!

For those who don't know, my grandmother went to be with Jesus last week. It is definitely hard here without her, but she is in such a better place with no more suffering. These pics were taken at the cemetery where she was laid to rest. I just think that her flowers are absolutely gorgeous! They show just a glimpse of what a truly beautiful person she was...

I finally got to sort through and edit my pics from the past race weekend here in Bristol. It was such a beautiful weekend to race, which brought on some awesome pictures! There is absolutely nothing like night racing, surrounded by 160,000 fans - and believe me there were no empty seats. My favorite part of the pre-race ceremony was the skydivers bringing in the American flag. Like the motto goes it is simply "Racin' the way it ought'a be!"

Hello blogging world. No, in case you were wondering I haven't abandoned the blog. Had a lot of stuff going on recently. My precious grandmother who's hand is featured in my last picture post went to be with Jesus yesterday. I appreciate all the support I've had during this rather difficult time...

Also, last week was race week in Bristol - over 300,000 fans came through the area for some of the best NASCAR racing in the whole world. I was able to go and I've got lots of pictures to post.

So just be patient. I'll get the pics up as soon as I can...

Below is a picture I took at the nursing home the other day. My grandmother has not been doing so well and I wanted to take a picture that I could keep to look back on. The hands in the picture are my grandmother's, mom's, and mine. The Bibles there belonged to my great-great grandmother, great-grandmother, and grandmother. So needless to say there is alot of significance in this picture...

This is a big blog! First, I just wanted to let everyone know that I am super excited about getting a new MacBook Pro laptop and believe that it is going to be very beneficial to getting this photography business going. So far I have been nothing but amazed!!

Secondly, here are some pics that I took the other day at work. As most of you know I have worked at the track in Bristol for over 5 years now. Needless to say - it's become a part of my life. I love the atmosphere at race time (all race fans aren't the typical redneck stereotype) and the employees I work with are amazing. With that being said I decided to go around the facility and take some pics. You can see more from the track on my IE Myspace (http://www.myspace.com/inspiringeffects). If you have never been to the track and even if you aren't into racing, it's a neat place and worth the $5 tour. And if you do stop by make sure to say hi!! Enjoy...

This is my first post of several from the Scott Wedding this past Saturday. It was such a beautiful day and a beautiful church (location: Brumley Gap, VA) . I usually don't do occasion photography, such as weddings, but since the bride is one of my absolute best friends I just couldn't resist taking some for her. I found out that I actually really enjoy shooting weddings - there are so many little details to photograph - so I might do more of that in the future. Aquarium Life

Sorry it's been so long since I updated...I've been so busy with school and my other jobs that I just haven't had time to get out anywhere and take pictures. I did get to go to this awesome aquarium in Gatlinburg last week. I didn't take my really good camera with me, just a regular digital point and shoot, but I still think I got a few really cool pics... Let me know what you think.

Sorry for the delay in posting. Things have been a little crazy around here. Race week arrived, which means that all other jobs take second place to my job there during 2 weeks a year. To add to 160,000 + people being in town, my grandfather passed away and we had to arrange his funeral. Things have definitely not been easy this past month, but each day I can see God's hand in my life and know that everything will be ok. Thanks to all of you for the prayers. I definitely couldn't have got through it without the support!

On a lighter note, I haven't had time to take new pics, but thought that I would go back in my portfolio and pull out a few from the beach last year that I just love. It amazes me at how much good stuff there is to photograph at the beach. People there are very interesting and children playing in the sand are just too adorable...

So I got this really AMAZING deal on an up-close camera lens that I have wanted for a long time and it made me super excited!! So as soon as I got home I decided to try it out and take a couple pictures of my new dog, Bentley. One is a little fuzzy cause he just won't sit still, but I think that the other one was just too adorable not to post!! I can't wait till the weather warms up a bit so I can go try it out!

So it snowed more than just a dusting today! Needless to say, I was eager to get out and shoot some pictures. I journeyed 2 miles from Rooster Front park to Steele's Creek Park and took tons of photos (in 10 degree weather I might add)!

So it's the start of a new year. I must say I am excited to see what this year will bring. One of my goals this year is to devote myself more to this business and expanding the services that I can offer my customers. Also, I plan to become more involved with Christmas ornaments and be able to offer more of a selection as well as more personalized ornaments for clients. So needless to say, I'm going to be busy. I love taking pictures though and I hope that you enjoy looking at them. I just want everyone to be able to see God's beauty through His creations. Pictures can speak so loud sometimes...

The Latest Creations...

Here are my latest creations...

The first two pics are of an ornament a friend asked me to personalize for another friend's wedding. Since the wedding is at Christmas time, everyone was asked to bring an ornament for the newlyweds' tree. I thought this was a really neat idea and think it turned out beautifully!

The pic below is of some ornaments a local hair salon owner asked me to do for her employees as Christmas presents. I had alot of fun making these - the 3 hair stylists each got their favorite color comb (hot pink, neon green, purple) and the nail tech got her favorite color nail polish (blue). Aren't they just adorable??

Here are some more pictures taken at the cabin.

This first one is one of my favorites. It was taken at 6:15 in the morning. I can't even begin to describe the sunrise I was able to see. It was absolutely one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. The second pic is of the cabin I stayed in. The 3rd and 4th pics are of views of the deck and from the deck. All I can say is AMAZING!!

This is a picture of the famous Bristol TN/VA sign (from the backside). If you have no clue what I am talking about - the street underneath this sign is on the TN/VA state line and the sign shows you which state you are in. It's a bit of a landmark to us "Bristolians". I saw this beautiful sunset and could not help but stop and take a picture.

This was taken along the Creeper. I just loved the simplicity of this barn and fence.

This is a friendly horse we came across on the trail. He definitely wasn't camera shy!

So for my first blog, I'm posting a picture that I absolutely love. It was taken a couple weeks ago on the Creeper Trail in VA and the fall colors are absolutely amazing!! The first picture is the original one - edited just a bit. I had a little fun with the second one and decided to bring out those beautiful fall colors!
