Racin' Bristol style

Well we just wrapped up our March NASCAR race weekend here in Bristol. This was the 13th consecutive race weekend that I have worked for the track. This weekend was perhaps one of the most memorable ones ever. Sunday was the Jeff Byrd 500 (formerly the Food City 500) which Food City graciously gave up the naming rights in memory of our former general manager who passed away last October after a courageous battle with cancer. Jeff's spirit definitely was in the air throughout the whole weekend. I can't help but think that Jeff used his wonderful negotiation skills to work out a weather forecast with God - not one single drop of rain fell the entire weekend!

If there was one photo that sums up Bristol, I believe it's the one below. I think this is my favorite from the whole weekend. NASCAR fans are diehard about their sport and I love it!

Check out some of my other absolute favorite photos I took during the weekend and let me know what you think!

Food City Race Night - one of the neatest things to do each race weekend!

This was the sunrise the morning of the Jeff Byrd 500. You can't tell me that Jeff wasn't looking down smiling!

Kyle Busch - winner of both races this weekend - doing his usual burnout.

Rubbin' is racin'!

The BMS August race can't get here fast enough! And by the way - tickets are for sale for the August weekend. You can order them online here (BristolMotorSpeedway.com). If you've never been then you are missing out. There's no racing better than 43 cars on a 1/2 mile track going 100+ mph all competing for 1 coveted trophy!
